Uber paradox and why you should tip

Uber paradox and why you should tip

I wanted to do a follow-up article to the one I did in January (It's not worth it to drive Lyft and Uber in Sacramento) because this week Uber has been celebrating its One Millionth Ride in Sacramento. All week long they've been doing special things for Uber customers. On Tuesday there was Chando's deliveries, Wednesday a chance to win a trip to Hawaii, and Friday a chance to win a cruise. Yay. Great. But what about the drivers? Zip. Nothing.

What Uber SHOULD be doing is having two celebrations. One for the customers, but another for the drivers!  We are the ones doing all the work for miserable pay. Better yet, pay us more!

My prior post goes into all the reasons it sucks to be a driver now. I've actually stopped driving. I'm not interested in making money for greedy Uber and losing money myself.

The Kum-ba-ya of Uber is gone... Read More

1. Fancy Hands

I’m a huge fan of Fancy Hands. It helps me get more done by focusing on the stuff that I can’t ask someone else to do. They handle anything that can be done over the Internet, from scheduling meetings to doing specific research. It has made me much more productive with my time.

Help on the way for West Sacramento homebrewers

Help on the way for West Sacramento homebrewers

WEST SACRAMENTO – One of the bastions of homebrewers in Folsom and Roseville is coming to West Sacramento.

The Brewmeister is set to open a new location in West Sac in early 2014, according to an email from owner Erik Schmid.

Founded in 1991, the Brewmeister opened a second location in Roseville a couple years ago, to cater to the needs of a growing number of local brewing enthusiasts.

Schmid hopes the new location will reduce the wear and tear on brewers nearer the downtown area. “We want to thank all of you for your patronage, and especially those who travel from West Sac, Natomas, Davis and further, to get to us, we hope you find the new location convenient.”

No opening date or specific location was announced for the third Brewmeister location.

FLYWHEEL FEATURE FRIDAY // ARTICLE CONSIGNMENT

It’s no secret that we love Article Consignment. From the first day we met the owners, Abe and his wife Val, we were in deep smit. Since then, we’ve collaborated a ton – from our Charity Fashion Show event and my birthday party hosted at their shop, to walking the runway in their clothes a number of times, we’re happy to be in this whole Sacramento fashion thing with them.
