Let Natomas School Trustees know what you think 3/22 and 3/28

You can let Natomas School Trustees know what you think at two hearings and hear what's planned for their areas of focus. The interim Superintendent's Office sent this advisory:

The Board of Trustees has directed staff to hold two public meetings to present information to the community regarding Trustee Areas and to receive input. The first meeting will be held at Natomas High School on March 22nd.

The second meeting will be held at Inderkum High School on March 28th. Both meetings will be held at 6:30 pm in the school’s theater. Information regarding Trustee Areas has been posted on the District’s website under Headlines.

Principal Hall at Bell Avenue Elementary School in Sacramento launched a school-wide reading program today – just in time for Read Across America Day.

The school had a kickoff party where Hall presented an over-sized $5,000 dollar check from Name Bubbles for the purchase of new books.

Big crowd expected at Natomas School Board Meeting Tuesday night, Inderkum

Kids, teachers and some parents rallied after school at Natomas Park Elementary to try and save phys ed classes and fine arts that the board may vote to cut tonight at 7pm.

Inderkum is where the board meeting will now be held.

Save physical education and fine arts classes in Natomas

With concerns over childhood obesity and fitness on the rise, why would you want to cut physical education classes? The dance class at NPE is a hit- and something kids say is the best part of the day.

But Tuesday night 2/28 word is the Natomas School Board may vote to cut phys ed and fine arts. What???

There is already no music in many school and we just got library back- make your voice heard!

Good news for Natomas Schools

Good news for Natomas Schools

The news from the interim NISD Superintendent is great for kids I think, with  class size from K-2 going down to 24, 30 kids per class starting in third grade and high schools a few more.

That sure beats current sizes that include 32 in some kindergartners and 34 in second grade!

I like to share the good news too-sometimes it seems just the bad about Natomas shares the spotlight!
