Live with what you love: Holiday Decorations

Live with what you love: Holiday Decorations

The New Year is almost here!  Tonight we will be ringing in 2016, and begin to start thinking about packing away our holiday decorations (if you have not done so already).

Now is a great time to really look at all the decorations that you have, from tree ornaments to center pieces, and decide if you really really love it and want to continue to live with it.  We all tend to accumulate more than what we truly need, so take a close look.  Make room for sentimental items that invoke wonderful memories.  Every year, we hang my husband's grandmother's hand painted ornaments on our tree.  They don't match, are pink and blue, don't sparkle anymore, but our tree would not be complete without a few of these precious ornaments that are well over 100 years old.

GLOVES AND MITTENS - A WINTER WORKOUT ESSENTIAL!

GLOVES AND MITTENS - A WINTER WORKOUT ESSENTIAL!

Chilly temps don't stand a chance against these NIKE® women's Vapor Flash running gloves! Enhanced with wind- and water-resistant fabric on the palm and cuff, they'll keep you going strong in blustery conditions. A touchscreen-compatible thumb and forefinger make it convenient to access your phone, and strategically placed moisture-wicking gussets prevent overheating.

A key factor for me is to make sure my gloves and/or mittens have moisture-wicking properties.  Don't forget that warm cap and socks too!

BUTTERNUT SQUASH - WHAT IS IT?

Butternut squash, also known in Australia and New Zealand as butternut pumpkin, is a type of winter squash. It has a sweet, nutty taste similar to that of a pumpkin.  Our Positive Power Partner Whole Foods Market says:

The Power of a Push Up

The Power of a Push Up

What do you do when your bootcamp coach says "time for pushups?" I'm willing to bet you groan, shoot a dirty look or, at a minimum roll your eyes. Admit it - you know its true!

Pushups aren't the easiest thing in the world to do. But they are worth every bit of effort you put into them. Pushups work SO many muscle groups. Primarily, they work your deltoids (shoulders), triceps (back of the upper arm) and pectorals (chest).

Momservation: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take your breath away. ~ favorite quotes #12

I had a take-your-breath-away moment with my daughter last night. It will be etched on my brain forever—those memories you’ll pull up as a measure of just how good life is.

But guess what?

The opportunity to seize a magical moment like mine for yourself is happening again tonight—but you have to willing to sacrifice some sleep for it.

Trust me, it’s worth it...
