Natomas mom accused of spraying cleaner in kids' eyes | Crime
NATOMAS, CA - The Sacramento Police Department arrested a woman Sunday afternoon on suspicion of child abuse and assault with a caustic chemical.
The woman, Priya Puelicher, 41 was taken into custody in her Natomas home.
Puelicher's husband told police he came home to find that Puelicher sprayed "Nature's Miracle Advanced Formula Pet Stain and Odor Remover" into the eyes of two of their children.
The children, both girls, are 9 and 11 years old.
"It was some type of argument that happened," said Officer Michelle Gigante with the Sacramento Police Department. "Mom decided that she was going to deal with what she needed to deal with, sprayed one of the children, went in, found the other child and that's when she sprayed that child as well."
However, sources close to the situation urged caution when judging the mother. One person said there were several underlying issues, including questions about mental stability.
The two girls sprayed were not seriously hurt. All four of the Puelicher's children remain home with the father.
Puelicher bailed out of Sacramento County Jail Monday afternoon. If found guilty of the federal charges, she could face nearly 10 years in prison.
