Boyer was arrested Friday after a neighbor called police to report a violent confrontation that had broken out between family members at Boyer's home.

Officers arrived and eventually discovered Brown's body buried in the backyard.

The woman's cause of death hasn't yet been determined.

Man arrested for the murder of a woman found hidden behind Natomas home

Sacramento police arrested a man Friday night for the murder of a woman found hidden under dirt and debris in the backyard of a Natomas home.

Scott Boyer, 41, was arrested for the murder and booked into the county jail.

Sacramento police officers were called to the home along Trail End Way, near San Juan and Truxel roads, late Thursday night for reports of a fight. When police arrived, they found two family members involved in a fight. After the two were separated, the body of the woman was discovered.

The victim has also not been identified, and no information about a possible cause of death has been released.

Deputy dies in Lake Tahoe trying to rescue friend

A Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department deputy has died while trying to save a friend in Lake Tahoe. He was identified as Carlos Francies by the department, and he lived in Natomas.

Francies was off-duty, kayaking and paddleboarding with friends and family. One of his friends was swimming in the water after his kayak, and was dragging a paddle behind him. South Lake Tahoe Police said it may have appeared his friend was struggling to swim because of this paddle.

Francies jumped in to help his friend, who he thought was struggling, but after a distance began having trouble himself. He called to his girlfriend to throw him a life jacket. She was forced to throw against the strong 40 mph winds, and when she was unable to get him the jacket she jumped in to swim over to him.
